Contact Management (CRM)
Organize, tag, and segment your WhatsApp customer database.
AutomateIt includes a built-in CRM interface where you can review your customer details, message histories, and active tags.
1. Importing Contacts
To import your existing database of customers:
- Go to the Contacts tab in your dashboard.
- Click Import Contacts (top-right).
- Download our sample CSV template.
- Ensure your file has a
phonecolumn with numbers in international format (e.g.,2348012345678for Nigeria—do not include+symbols or leading0s). - Upload the CSV. The contacts will appear in your database immediately.
2. Customer Profile Details
Clicking any contact in the list opens their Profile Panel:
- Custom Fields: View details like email, address, and recent order IDs.
- Conversation History: Read a scrollable transcript of all messages, including replies generated by the AI chatbot and manual entries made by human agents.
- Active Subscriptions: For multi-tenant and agency accounts, view subscription details and tenant assignments.
3. Tagging and Audience Segmentation
Tags are the primary tool for segmenting your contacts for targeted broadcast campaigns.
- Creating Tags: Add tags like "Paid Customer", "Lead", or "Real Estate" directly in the contact profile or via bulk actions in the list view.
- Auto-Tagging: You can instruct your AI chatbot to automatically tag users during a conversation (e.g., "If a customer asks about Lagos property, apply the 'Lagos Lead' tag").
- Filtering: Use tags in the Campaign Builder to send promotional messages only to relevant segments, ensuring high open rates and low spam flags.
